Welcome to Themely! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to get started as an author. Whether you're sharing free resources or planning to sell premium products, this guide will help you set up your account, understand your dashboard, and create your first product.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- A Themely account - Sign up here if you haven't already
- Your creative work ready - Digital files, designs, templates, or other resources you want to share
- Basic product information - Title, description, category, and tags for your product
💡 New authors can create FREE products immediately. To sell paid products, you'll need to get verified first. Learn about verification
Setting Up Your Profile
Your author profile is your identity on Themely. A complete profile builds trust with potential customers and helps your products get discovered.
Step 1: Complete Your Basic Information
- Navigate to Account Settings
- Fill out your profile information:
- Display Name - How your name appears to customers
- Username - Your unique identifier (e.g., @username)
- Bio - A brief description of who you are and what you create
- Avatar - A professional profile picture
- Click "Save Changes"
Step 2: Add Social Links (Optional)
Adding your website, Twitter, or other social profiles helps customers learn more about you and builds credibility.
Understanding Your Dashboard
Your Author Dashboard is your command center. Here's what you'll find:
Stats Overview
See downloads, views, active products, and ratings at a glance. Verified authors also see earnings and sales.
Quick Actions
Quickly create products, manage your library, and access important features.
Activity Feed
Track downloads, reviews, and product status updates in real-time.
Creating Your First Product
Ready to share your work? Follow these steps to create your first product:
Step 1: Navigate to Create Product
- Go to your Author Dashboard
- Click "Create New Product" or navigate to Create Product
Step 2: Fill Out Product Details
- Title - Clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Modern UI Kit for Figma")
- Description - Detailed information about what's included and who it's for
- Category - Choose the most relevant category for discoverability
- Tags - Add relevant keywords to help users find your product
- Preview Images - Upload high-quality screenshots or mockups
- Pricing - Free (for all authors) or Paid (verified authors only)
Step 3: Upload Your Files
Upload the actual product files that customers will download. Supported formats include:
- Design files (.fig, .sketch, .xd, .psd)
- Archives (.zip, .rar)
- Documents (.pdf, .docx)
- And more...
⚠️ File Size Limits: Free authors have 500MB storage. Verified authors get 5GB. Check your storage usage
Step 4: Review and Publish
- Preview your product listing to see how it will appear to customers
- Make any necessary adjustments
- Click "Publish" to submit for review
- Your product will be reviewed by our team (usually within 24-48 hours)
